A FRUSTRATING WIN IS BETTER THAN A FRUSTRATING LOSS

A walk-off HBP is definitely not as exciting as a walk-off HR. In fact, I didn't jump out of my chair, pump my fist, or yell "That's what I'm talking about".
But a funny thing happened. When I checked the standings, the Padres still gained 1/2 game on all of their NL West rivals and the Mets still lost 1/2
game. So here's a question for everyone to ponder. How does it feel to be a Met fan today? At least we know we lack much offensive talent. The Mets
lineup is stacked with superstars, a trillion-something dollar payroll and are just one game over .500. What about Dodger fan? You have a great
nucleus of young talent built around Matt Kemp, Russell Martin, James Loney, and Andre Ethier. And still, you've lost 11 of 14 games and are now four
games under .500.

So we lost Tadahito Iguchi to the DL. So we have to face Johan Santana tonight. Our offense sucks PERIOD. We're still without our two best pitchers.
One of our best hitters is being held captive in AAA. Our best hitter from last season is now one of the best hitters in baseball on another team, the
Texas Rangers. But it doesn't matter today. Today I can be happy that my team sucked just a little bit less than the Mets did yesterday and that puts a
smile on my face. At least until we strand another runner at third with less than two outs.
